As surprising as it may seem, the collections of “Monsieur,” brother of Louis XIV, and of his family, have never been studied in depth. And yet, these collections of silver metalwork, jewelry, art objects, cameos, and precious stones were the most spectacular and varied of the Ancien Régime.
